Notre Dame AmeriCorps members strive to empower individuals facing economic hardship through education and one-on-one believe that education is the fundamental tool in the struggle for human dignity, self-esteem and self-determination.

We seek to build community among our members, as well as the people we serve by reaching out across culture and class.

Our goal is to promote and encourage education, community empowerment, leadership development and multicultural harmony in hopes of producing greater unity, less violence and better-informed citizens in our communities.

Cincinnati NDA members serve in a variety of positions at urban farms, inner city schools , GED program, or non-profit organizations.

All positions are designed to provide academic assistance for grades K-12 or to provide adult education in the from of GED, ESL, job readiness or job training.

help to facilitate or execute small group instruction with guidance/support from classroom teacher; work with teachers to coordinate in-class support for students around engagement and behavior; assist students in all of the basic GED subjects;assist students with college admission, financial aid and enrollment process;assist with the coordination and implementation of ESL classes; provide assistance accessing work-related training programs, searching for jobs and preparing application materials.

Housing , Education award upon successful completion of service , Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend , Childcare assistance if eligible , Stipend , Training , Health Coverage .

Permits attendance at school during off hours , Car recommended , Permits working at another job during off hours .
