    Duties:

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    (includes, but is not limited to, the following) ? Develops diagnostic impressions according to the DSM criteria. ? Determines the appropriate level of client care according to American Science of Addiction Medicine II criteria. ? Facilitates referrals when indicated to assist clients in accessing the appropriate level of care. ? Develops treatment and continuing care plans in conjunction with clients. ? Consults with referral sources regarding clinical recommendations and client progress if appropriate authorizations are in place. ? Determines appropriate therapies for client needs and presenting challenges. ? Conducts case management services to facilitate/coordinate clients' non-clinical needs. ? Determines when discharge from clinical programming is appropriate. ? Counsels individuals, families, couples, and groups. ? Participates in Team Meetings. ? Provides Crisis Intervention Services and completes related documentation. ? Provides client progress to Court Teams. ? Documents client progress and clinical progress notes. ? Conducts clinical interviews with clients, assess their needs, and writes related reports.


    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    (includes, but is not limited to, the following) ? Coordinates and presents community prevention/education activities. ? Participates in treatment team and other departmental activities. ? Conducts client intakes and orientation sessions. ? Consult with a supervisor if the client's needs are outside the professionals' competence. ? All other job-related duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Human Services required


    Experience:
    Minimum of 1-year experience counseling high-risk populations, including mental health problems, substance abuse and addictive disorders, and/or prevention/community education services is required; 2 years preferred


    Certification/License:
    Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) preferred. Registered Play Therapist preferred. Certified Prevention Specialist preferred. Child and Adolescent Specialists preferred. Will be required to undergo and successfully pass a background check. Must maintain a good moral character standing. Must maintain ethical standards of the profession. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.


    Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
    Knowledge of Play Therapy, Group Therapy, Co-occurring Therapy, and CBT/REBT/DBT/Trauma oriented Therapies/Mindfulness preferred. Must be able to make clients comfortable in sharing personal information. Must be able to work in a high-stress environment and handle difficult situations. Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisory personnel, coworkers, and the general public.

    Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly in person, in writing, and by telephone and email.

    Must have working knowledge and be able to use word processing and spreadsheet and database software. Must have excellent organization skills, organizing work, prioritizing tasks, and managing time. Must maintain confidentiality.
