    850mW – two MWP J-machines in CCGT


    This position is responsible for coordinating the daily efforts of the EPC Contractor's work for erection of all rotating machinery, including the Combustion Turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators, and their ancillary supporting systems.

    This position reports to the Lead Mechanical Field Engineer


    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • As delegated by the Lead Mechanical Field Engineer, review Contractor's Work Plans, Work Packages, and Inspection and Test Plan protocols to ensure contractual compliance.
    • As delegated by the Lead Mechanical Field Engineer, evaluate Contractor's weekly, 3-week, and 90-day work plan schedules; coordinate with IPP Project Controls staff. On a weekly basis discuss with Contractor actual versus planned progress. Review Contractor's weekly/monthly reports and support weekly/monthly Contractor update meetings. Support Contractor's needs and remove roadblocks. Document significant impacts to schedule and
    advise the GFOM.


    • Utilizing Contractor's Work Plan and weekly Work Packages, observe and monitor quality
    efforts/deficiencies. Make note of issues in daily reporting and, as applicable, notify their discipline Superintendent and/or Field Engineer. Document significant impacts to quality and advise the Lead Mechanical Field Engineer and the Generation QA Manager.


    • Witness installation of Contractor's work, including testing through random inspections.
    Document significant deviations or non-compliance and advise the Lead Mechanical Field Engineer.


    • While observing Contractor's work progress, note safety concerns and advise craft supervisor.
    Communicate safety concerns to Lead Mechanical Field Engineer and the IPP Site Safety Manager.


    • Utilize iCoach/iCare model in daily interactions with site personnel.
    Experience and Education


    • Technical two-year degree or equivalent work experience. BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
    • 20+ years professional experience in mechanical construction, maintenance, or operations of power generation facilities. Construction experience preferred.
