    Description

    To be fully engaged in provide Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by assisting licensed personnel in providing direct nursing care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

    Primary Accountabilities


    • Uses two patient identifiers when accessing patient information in patient care. Ensures accurate labeling of specimens.
    • Initiates patient set-up and maintains monitor equipment.
    • Performs quality EKG tracing and performs Stat EKGâ€s when requested.
    • Application of orthopedic splints and appliances. Performs wound care/non-sterile dressings.
    • Sets up and assists for patient care procedures. Assists with triage process, i.e. vital signs, data collection, etc.
    • Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural and individual differences.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia course with at least 80% passing grade and completion of 80 clinical hours.
    • Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card.
    • Current EMT certificate or previous experience as ED tech or CNA, or after completion of first semester in a RN/LPN program.
