Our work depends on a Network Engineer/System Administrator- ISE joining our USPS team to provide network security & access control and manage security devices to ensure network integrity.

    HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER/SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - ISE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
    • Administer the CISCO Identity Services Engine (ISE)
    • Configure, administer, document custom policies for Network Access Controls
    • High level troubleshooting of network and application issues
    • Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
    • Working as Network Access Controls (NAC) ISE Engineer in managing, planning, and designing a framework for authenticating and authorizing national clients via various methods: to include dot1x and profiling; and to enforce compliance across remote VPN, wireless, and wired networks.
    • Manage and build Cisco ISE VMWare servers: to include certificate management, licensing, and Integration with 3rd party application servers.
    • Manage Cisco ISE Guest Network environment and users accounts.
    • Assist in the onboarding and introduction of new endpoints onto the network via investigative testing and probing of endpoint attributes, protocols and behavior; to culminate in the creation and/or assignment of appropriate policy.
    • Utilize Splunk to drive reporting and search for data collected from Cisco ISE.
    • Perform packet captures and TCP dumps to analyze application traffic to troubleshoot issues related.
    • Provide support for ISE related issues, including off-shift and weekend support functions.
    • Utilize ServiceNow application to monitor troubleshoot and track all ISE related tickets.
    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline (preferred but not required)
    Required Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience with application development
    Required Technical Skills:
    • Proficient knowledge in administering Cisco ISE for network security and access control
    • Proficient understanding of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and TCP protocols and traffic flows
    • Demostrated ability to troubleshoot basic network issues, including IPv6 configurations
    Required Skills & Abilities:
    • Demostrated ability to manage security devices and conducted traffic and log analysis to ensure network integrity
    • Demostrated ability to implement and maintained best practices for always-available IT operations
    • Proficient in developing and maintaining effective communication channels with co-workers
    • Demostrated ability to multi-task and to manage time effectively
    • Demostrated ability in creative thinking skills and highly detail-oriented
    Desired Skills & Abilities:
    • Demostrated experience with various firewalls and proxies
    • Demostrated experience with switches/routers (Juniper Mist/Fortinet/Aruba)
    • Proficien Cyber Security Skills
    • Demostrated ability to work on various networks and perform log analytics
    • Proficient with application layer protocols including HTTP, SSH, SSL, etc.
    Security Clearance Level:
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
    • The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen and to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
    Location:
    • On site in Raleigh, NC with a hybrid work schedule (i.e., 2 days on site; 3 days remote)
