    JOB SUMMARY


    The Lead Medication Historian will direct the day-to-day operations of Medication Historians and assist with the accurate and complete collection of medication history data in a variety of hospital settings.

    This role will lead personnel in prioritizing the process of obtaining an accurate and complete medication list upon hospital admission to ensure patient safety.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    Education [formal]:
    A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be a certified pharmacy in the State of Iowa. This must be completed prior to start of employment. National Pharmacy Technician Certification required within 1 year of employment.

    Experience:

    Two or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician (retail preferred) or allied health professional, with knowledge of medications including brand/generic names, available dosages, frequencies, and indications.


    Special Skills and Competencies:
    Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision. Required/preferred certification in BLS(i.e. respiratory care, Oracle systems, etc.). Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.
