- Quantitatively analyzes collected QC images using computer-based algorithms to verify equipment performance.
- Performs the leadership role, as a Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP), in all aspects of obtaining and maintaining accreditation of applicable imaging modalities by the American College of Radiology.
- Maintains certification as a Diagnostic Medical Physicist.
- Performs day-to-day operation of imaging equipment QC activities. Works closely with technologist leadership in maintaining equipment-testing schedules.
- Works with the technologist leadership and clinical managers with the update, maintenance, and documentation of the department's Quality Control Programs with respect to imaging equipment performance as required by Joint Commission guidelines. Assists with annual imaging equipment performance testing required to meet Joint Commission guidelines.
- Performs requested clinical radiation dosimetry calculations in support of patient consultation, research, and regulatory requirements.
- Performs key role in the clinically oriented medical physics research and development projects.
- Contributes to the educational activities of the department, including but not limited to regular medical physics and technology lectures for radiology fellows, residents, and staff; hands-on fluoroscopy radiation safety training for medical trainees; mentorship for the medical physics residency program.
- American Board of Radiology (ABR) board certified or ABR eligible
- Masters Degree: Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical, and Computer Engineering, or relevant fields
- 2 years' experience in medical imaging physics or a related field
- PhD degree holders are preferred.
- Candidates with strong experience in diagnostic imaging physics and nuclear medicine are preferred.
- Eligible for an HMS appointment
