    Summary:


    This position contributes to the technical support, administration, and security for the diverse computer systems in Facilities Services, requiring judgment guided by outcomes, principles, and standards.

    Duties include independently analyzing technical problems and implementing solutions in collaboration with supervisor, troubleshooting and diagnosing computer hardware and software issues, setting up/upgrading/configuring computers, servers, and networked systems and attached devices.

    This position maintains, deploys, designs, tests, and leads small scope projects and systems under the direction of senior staff. This position is also responsible for researching and advising on system integration, IT purchases and upgrades.

    A wide range of subject matter expertise in both IT software and hardware is expected, including electronic devices not typically designated as IT equipment (hand-held radios, AV equipment, telecommunications, IoT, etc.) Work is guided by objectives and expected outcomes with limited direction.

    Determines compliance within policies and procedures.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Administration of in-house computer and networked systems, including server administration for several OIT-hosted VMs (Kronos Tellaris [VRU], Morse Watchman Keywatcher, ArcGIS, SCADA, Metasys, Schnider Electric, Johnson Controls, and other proprietary building controls servers), and the departmental web server (WordPress/SharePoint) utilizing best practices according to University IT standards.

    Shared administration for Windows Active Directory and Azure containers for Facilities Services.
    ·


    Coordinate with campus IT on all requirements necessary to ensure proper functioning of Facilities Services within the campus network, ensuring the security of all client and server computers.

    ·


    Identify and analyze system problems identified by stakeholders and partners, and formulate solutions, supporting the design and implementation of systems.

    ·

    Analyze processes and recommend performance improvements.
    ·


    Provide IT support for 600+ users across Facilities Services on computer systems, peripherals, and network access utilizing extensive knowledge of Windows 10-11, Office software suite, Adobe software suite, vendor specific SaaS applications.

    ·

    Troubleshoot technical issues including but not limited to software, network access, and PC & computer peripheral repair/configuration.
    ·


    Work with vendors and project teams to develop and implement new systems or changes to existing systems as needed, providing support after project implementation.

    Create documentation of processes for quality control.
    ·


    Manage peripherals across Facilities Services and satellite location on campus for printers, network and land line phone connections including scheduling of port and phone activations, deactivations, and moves.

    Support and planning for individual use and SCADA building-wide systems across campus, planning for printers, copiers and plotters for UT owned and leased systems.

    ·

    Supply ordering, lease renewals, and adding or removing systems according to utilization.
    ·

    Properly stock and secure additional hardware specific to these systems and rooms based on their functional use.
    ·


    Maintain, troubleshoot and plan shared access computer systems including kiosks, huddle spaces, classrooms and conference rooms across Facilities Services and satellite locations.

    Use Windows Active Directory, InTune and Azure to automate and update shared access systems.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    ·

    Knowledge of technical area (Data Security, Computer Diagnostics, Software, Networking, Telecommunications, Compliance & Audit Support).
    ·

    Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    Minimum/Required Qualifications:
    ·

    High school diploma or GED
    ·

    Technical training in computer technology or related field
    ·

    3-5 years' experience with Microsoft Windows, Apple OS, iOS or Android systems.
    ·

    3-5 years' networking experience in an enterprise system.
    ·

    2-3 years' experience scripting/code environments such as Zoho, Oracle Visual Builder.
    ·

    2-3 years' experience with identity management systems such as Microsoft Active Directory or Microsoft Azure.
