Job Title: Senior Analyst - Racial Equity - Police Department

Positions & Duties

The Police Department is recruiting for a Senior Analyst to accelerate Departmental efforts in achieving measurable and sustainable progress to advance racial equity and reimagining public safety efforts.

This is a limit-dated position that is anticipated to be funded through June 30, 2024, subject to further extension as appropriate. However, should this position be discontinued through the budget process, the City may seek to place you in other internal job opportunities based on your previous work experience.

Facilitate actions within the Department to create and maintain a racial equity and inclusion framework and a Racial Equity Action Plan.
Support Department leadership and staff through equity-focused strategic planning, policies, and practices.
Support Department leadership and staff through racial equity evaluation, messaging, and documentation.
Assist the Department in developing key indicators of racial equity, including ties to community objectives and outcomes, and implement a tracking system for progress and reporting.
Integrate community input into decision-making and Departmental strategies.
Coordinate the provision of racial equity training and creating a diversity outreach plan to ensure racial equity in hiring and recruiting efforts.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Completion of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration or in a closely related field.

Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in general management/administrative analytic work in the areas of personnel, budget, grants, fiscal and/or organizational methods analyses including general staff analytical work.

Aceptable Substitution: One (1) year of additional education above the Baccalaureate Degree level may be substituted for one year of the required management/administrative analytic work.

Licenses or Certificates: Possession of a valid California driver's license.

Background: Submit to a personal background investigation as required by the Police Department
