Job Duties:
The Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) main objective is to improve the employment, quality of life, security, and independence of older Virginians, Virginians with disabilities, and their families.
The Information Security Divisions mission is to manage, develop, implement, and provide guidance for a security program in support of DARS' strategic goals, objectives and initiatives.
DARS seeks an Information Security Analyst to provide operational support to the DSA Information Security Officer in implementing Information Security strategic goals and plans that ensure the DSA operates securely while maintaining compliance to the COV Information Security Standards.
The broad areas of responsibility for this position include IT risk management, security awareness education and training, and audit monitoring management.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience - Practical knowledge of Information Security principles; including information security policies and best-practices. Practical experience with IT risk management, security awareness training, audit monitoring management. Familiarity with National Institute of Standards and Technology Publication and/or ISO/IEC
Skills/Abilities - Able to communicate effectively in writing and orally, skilled in project and task management. Ability to present information and key findings in cohesive manner to statewide leaders and/or stakeholders. Maintaining effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals in both the public and private sectors.
Additional Considerations:
Familiarity with the Commonwealth of Virginia's Information Security Standards. Training or experience with a concentration in information security/computer science, business administration, or related field. Some prior Information Security or Information Security Audit experience. Experience working in an environment that supports assistive technology devices.
