Pediatric Emergency Department
Essential Job Functions
Functions as clinical instructor on designated unit for local universities
Adheres to university adjunct professor requirements regarding curriculum and grading
Adheres to Atlantic Health System requirements regarding student to instructor ratio
Ensures students are adhering to all Atlantic Health System policies regarding parking, hygiene, and patient care requirements.
Participates in required on- campus activities such as simulation for clinical course
Gathers data to monitor student outcomes at beginning and conclusion of clinical rotation
Facilitates student engagement on unit and promotes AHS Nurse Externship and Hire Learner Programs
Assists unit educator and clinical nurse specialist in unit-based education needs (Hire Learner Education, cross-training education, simulation days, competency days)
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
MSN or MS Required
License / Certification
Current New Jersey Registered Nurse License
BLS Required
Other certifications as required by specialization (i.e. NRP, PALS, ACLS)
Specialty certification required within 12 months of hire
Relevant Experience
Recent minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting. Experience is to be in the area of JFNE specialization (i.e., OB, Pediatrics)
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Patient, compassionate nature
Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians, nurses and nursing students
Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
Education experience (preferred)
