- FTE: Solo pediatrician on for the 24/7 time periods.
- Duties: Provide care for 0-18 yo patients. Standby/on call for emergency or complicated C-sections, ED call for pediatric patients.
- Required Procedures: Neonatal resuscitation. High risk or complex patients transferred to higher level of care.
- EMR: Cerner
- Support Staff: RN staff
- Average Number of admissions per day? pediatric patients and newborn/nursery patients
- Average Number of ICU patients per day? No PICU or NICU -- patients managed just until able to transfer out to a higher level of care.
- Emergency Codes are run by emergency medicine physicians.
- Does the pediatrician on call see all kids that come into the ER? No, they will provide an in-person evaluation or phone consultation based on ER physician's determination of the patient's condition. The pediatric hospitalist is the attending for any children admitted through the ER or by direct admit.
- Does the Pediatric Hospitalist attend All deliveries and cesarean sections even if there is No expected complications? Definitely not. They are the attending for newborns admitted to the well-baby nursery after delivery. We have neonatologists who attend all high-risk deliveries.
- Timeframe: 30-60 days upon receipt of fully completed application.
- Requirements: MUST have CLEAN background and on ACTIVE/CURRENT staff at a TJC accredited facility with no restrictions on privileges. This role requires physician to provide resident teaching/precepting.
- Credentialing with other facilities? No
- Preferred Lodging: Preferred hotels. In the event that the CommonSpirit Health preferred hotel is not available, hotel/lodging rates will be reimbursed based on actual expense, up to 1.5 times the current GSA rate for the market.
- Air Travel: Local, preferred but not required. BR50/round trip cap
- Rental Cars: BR/day all in cap (including taxes and fees) regardless of car class.
- Mileage: IRS Standard Rate
- Please detail any anticipated travel exceptions, for example a dietary restriction necessitating specific lodging situations. Travel exception requests will be denied if this information is not part of the provider presentation. Please also indicate the city where provider will be traveling from in the travel section of the provider submission.
- Malpractice - Must be included in rate.
- Orientation - half the hourly rate, kicks in after 8 hours. - "Per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours"
- Holiday rates - 1.5x the regular rate per CS guidelines for all corresponding rates.
- 24hr call 4 hrs gratis - (BR995-BR95 rate range)
- Callback - (BR5-BRrate range)
- Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible - REQUIRED
- CA License - REQUIRED
- Residency /Fellowship Trained - REQUIRED
- BLS, DEA, and either NRP or PALS - REQUIRED DURING CREDENTIAL
