Quality Engineer | Columbus, OH (On-Site)
Direct Hire

Position Objective

Responsible for the development, application, and maintenance of quality control systems for processing materials into finished products. Develops and initiates methods and procedures for inspection, testing and evaluation. Communicates with and addresses concerns from external and internal customers regarding non-conformances, process changes and auditing.

General/Specific Responsibilities

Adherence to federal and local law regulations, internal policies and other applicable rules including ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements.

Continuous improvement of work and activities
Compliance with the corporate mission statement
Cooperation with other people in spirit of mutual respect
Fulfilling thoroughly all tasks within the scope of defined qualifications and responsibilities
Represent the company in professional and respectful manner.
Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information
Adherence to 5S principles
Maintenance of the Quality Management System.
Ensuring the efficacy of new and existing processes to allow for quality problem prevention.
Perform PPAP of new and existing product.
Represents QM department in APQP activities.
Development and control of quality documentation for product and processes (QM plan, PFMEA, Inspection forms, etc).
Internal auditing (LPA, QMS, CAR related audits).
Customer contact including but not limited to: all non-conformance related activities, PPAP, audits & visitations.
Driving the corrective action response system for internal and external concerns.

Education/Experience Required

5+ years of related Quality Engineering experience
Computer Skills (Microsoft Office applications and SAP)
Project Management Skills
Understanding of business and basic financials principles to manage a budge per project.
Advanced quality principals – PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
Basics of metallurgy is a plus.
