    General Summary:
    Lead/manage team members and projects during development of interior components for multiple OEM's. Provide materials engineering support to manufacturing facilities and new product development projects.

    II

    Essential Job Functions:
    A.Utilize team members and various resources to ensure the customers' expectations are met or exceeded.

    B.Support Engineering Manager to ensure successful RFQ and quotation of new business by defining product requirements based on customer SOR.

    C.Create engineering budget for specific products (manpower, expenses, etc).
    D.Utilize lessons learned and continuous improvement activities to ensure robust proposals.
    E.Application of engineering practices/principles
    a.

    Use of computer aided design tools, application of problem solving techniques and adherence to procedures to enable quality completion of all project deliverables.

    F.Support the design and development of automotive interior parts.
    a.
    Provide material expertise in the selection of materials during development
    b.
    Initiate and execute VA/VE improvements through material selection
    c.
    Evaluate materials based on requirements and performance specifications of the automotive interior parts.
    d.
    Confer with producers of materials such as metals and polymers during investigation and evaluation of materials.
    e.
    Review product failure data to rule out or establish material and process causes.
    G.Support Purchasing Activities
    a.
    Evaluate materials and parts for cost reduction
    b.
    Assist suppliers in understanding technical specifications
    c.
    Help decide NA equivalents for Japanese materials
    H.Interface with customers
    a.
    Support customers for all material approvals and issues.

    Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

    Education:
    *Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Material Science or related field required


    Experience:
    *Greater than 5 years of relevant engineering experience
    *Greater than 3 years of experience as a supervisor or manager


    Personal/Technical Skills:
    *Ability to perform data analysis, best practices and hand calculations accurately
    *Strong presentation skills
    *Able to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
    *Must be able to multi task, handle diversity, and provide leadership through problem resolution.
    *Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong leadership ability are required.
    *Understanding of basic engineering calculations, cost analysis, and an understanding of basic accounting.
    *Must have strong organizational, planning, and people skills.
    *Active listener with effective communication skills.
    *Ability to work in a team environment to support demanding automotive customer requirements.
    *Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of the organization.
    *Ability to compile effective and concise visual reports and graphs.
    *Effective time management skills.
    *Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.
    *Proven ability to react and respond appropriately during customer and technical presentations.


    Language Skills:
    *Exceptional communication skills ( written and verbal) in English required
    *Japanese, German, Portuguese, and/or Spanish preferred.


    Computer/Software:
    *Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

    Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear.

    The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
