    • Senior Financial AccountantHere at the Avis Budget Group EMEA and International HQ, we have an opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills to join the Finance team as a Senior Financial Accountant within our high performing EMEA team.

    The Senior Financial Accountant will be a key member of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Controllership team, working and collaborating with a strong team in the UK as well as across the various countries including mainland Europe, our global headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey, and our shared service centre in Budapest, Hungary.

    This is a highly visible position where you will have an integral role in the reporting process of a multi-entity Business Unit, with the opportunity to communicate meaningful insights to the business and challenge the status quo.

    The Controllership teams mission is to serve as a strategic business partner, bringing timely and insightful decisions, leveraging financial systems and processes that increase transparency, improve efficiency, mitigate risks, shorten decision cycle times, and reinforce financial integrity and accountability.

    Reporting to the Financial Controller, the individual will be responsible to ensure the integrity of the financial close process, and delivery of all internal and external reporting deadlines, including ensuring compliance with the control environment defined by the SOx framework and US GAAP accounting rules.


    Key responsibilities include:


    Communicating insights by reviewing and analysing results to ensure accurate monthly reportingImplementing US GAAP accounting policies and ensuring they are consistently applied across the EMEA RegionMaintaining intercompany loan matrix to ensure balances agree between entities.

    Acting as a key contact for ABG Internal and External Reporting to address queries and provide accurate information on a timely basisIdentifying and creating efficiencies in the close and reporting processMaintaining an effective control environmentCommunicating expectations and providing guidance where needed to country teams and the shared service centreMonthly balance flux commentary to aid group reporting teamPrepare statutory financial statements for EMEA entities under UK GAAP FRS102 to the company style guide, and update style guide as neededSupport the external audit by ensuring agreed upon timelines are metMaintain financial controls and assisting in SOX compliance programme including documenting process flowsTake on expanded tasks during a time of increased workload for the whole team and ad hoc financial accounting tasks as assigned by the Financial ControllerIdentify and implement process improvements to the above tasks to ensure these are being done in the most efficient manner and risks are mitigatedProject manage various initiatives and projects within EMEA from time to timeRequirements:

    Qualified accountant (ACA) or equivalent3+ years of audit experience ideally at top 20 public accounting firm with a client list of multi-national companiesExperience with FRS 102 and an international GAAP (IFRS/U.S.

    GAAP)Experience with a control-based audit approach1+ years post qualifiedAdvanced Excel skills including V-Lookups and Pivot TablesProficient in other Microsoft Office productsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and act with a sense of urgency.
