    Jackson, MS


    Employment Type:
    Full-time, Permanent

    Hospital Size: 600+ beds or Level I Trauma Center Required


    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) before, during, and after surgical procedures.
    • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment necessary for cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeries, including but not limited to heart transplant, valve procedures, CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting), valve replacement, and basic thoracic surgeries.
    • Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure smooth and efficient workflow during procedures.
    • Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
    • Assist in patient positioning, draping, and other tasks as directed by the surgical team.
    • Provide support during emergency situations and be available for oncall duties as assigned.
    • Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and equipment usage.

    Qualifications:

    • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    • Prior experience working in a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including heart transplant, valve surgeries, CABG, and thoracic surgeries.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, highpressure environment.
    • Excellent munication and teamwork skills.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including 4x10 shifts with 12 nights of call per week and 1 weekend per month.
    • Must reside within a 50mile radius of the hospital.
