    The University of Miami Emergency department has an exciting opportunity for a Per-diem Critical Care Technician.

    The Critical Care Technician, conducts drug utilization review studies, and consults with medical
    practitioners on prescription orders, patient reactions, and errors. Additionally, this employee works closely with patients and healthcare providers to provide information and guidance about the effects of prescription drugs and help plan effective drug therapy programs.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Certification
    • Licensing: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Paramedic (PMD) License
    • Certification: BLS-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/ ACLS / PALS
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

    Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination.
