    Summary/Objective


    The quality technician will provide hands on assistance to quality function on assigned duties and production lines to ensure product is designed, manufactured in accordance with Advanced Flow Solutions (AFS) requirements.

    In addition, the quality technician shall be responsible for supporting ISO compliance, supplier quality management, continual improvement activities and achieving company/quality goals.

    Essential Functions

    Quality technician will support the development and maintenance of the quality systems

    Will play a key role in developing and maintaining inspection reports

    Participate in the calibration process to maintain quality control equipment

    Ability to perform inspections in all areas of production, including product from external suppliers

    Prepare and maintain test data for review for SPC, RCCM, etc.

    Participate in the maintenance of AFS's ISO 9000/14001 registration and other regulatory certifications

    Hands on in problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques

    Analyze and investigate the root cause of external and internal non-conforming product, and system deficiencies

    Initiate and coordinate corrective actions, verification of effectiveness such as actions for customer complaints and internal/external supplier non-conformances

    Conducts capability studies, Gage R&R(MSA) and follow up with corrective actions

    Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency

    Quality records maintenance to support AFS's Quality Management System

    Support quality assurance activities including process assessment, process control plans, PFMEAs, inspection plans, and statistical data

    Examine and analyze damaged product to identify extent of problems involved and ideal way to repair

    Ensuring safety requirements are met within each process or activity

    Ability to work as part of the quality team and in close coordination with other teams within the manufacturing facility

    Performs other duties as required

    Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company

    Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output

    Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety to self and co-workers

    Required Education and Experience

    High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required

    Minimum 2 years of inspection and/or production experience

    Minimum 2 years of experience using various test/measurement devices

    Preferred Education and Experience

    2-5 years in a quality related field

    2-5 years of experience in machining, casting and assembly

    Quality systems development

    Knowledge of CMM/ programming

    Demonstrate good organizational skills and good follow-up techniques

    Must be able to multitask

    Work Environment

    Exposure to manufacturing environment. Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy/loud in the plant area.

    Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron, and face shield must be observed.
