The Carnivore Keeper will be responsible for providing care preparing diets feeding and cleaning for animals maintaining habitats related structures and surrounding non-public areas performing daily observation of animals to identify normal abnormal behaviors related to husbandry/health issues coordinating with senior staff on animal training programs to facilitate husbandry behaviors maintaining regular reliable attendance maintaining professional conduct at all times consistently modeling the organization's values in all interactions with colleagues guests stakeholders communicating questions or concerns regarding medical/health issues of specimens in collection to supervisor assisting with treatment as directed including administering medication providing behavioral psychological enrichment for animals communicating with visitors as needed for educational behavioral/safety purposes disposing of trash debris in zoo maintaining landscaping grounds around habitats servicing equipment facilities ensuring safe use includes opening closing facilities following safety rules regulations policies procedures attending regular safety meetings assisting new keepers seasonal staff assigned documenting observations information on animal health behavior diet enrichment facilities department records assisting veterinary procedures basic healthcare procedures nail trims etc. assigned.
