Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures.
Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.

Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent x PreferredGraduate of an accredited ultrasound program. X Required

Certifications: X Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association X RequiredIf BLS is not with American Heart Association, the employee has 30 days to obtain it
Registry: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer R.D.M.S.
within 1 year of hire in one of the following disciplines: Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), OB (OB), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).ORA.R.R.T. - Ultrasound within 1 year of hire. Image Gently and Image Wisely Certifications within 30 days of hire
Minimum Work Experience2 years of experience preferred
