    The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.

    Enterprise Market Research (EMR) provides business and functional area partners with objective, credible and actionable insights; helping to profitably grow the business, build the brand and positively position Travelers within the marketplace.

    You will be working in a dynamic environment to help understand the needs, behaviors, attitudes, expectations and perceptions of key target audiences (customers, prospects and distribution partners).

    The Managing Director, Market Research will be responsible for conducting and overseeing primary research (qualitative and quantitative) on assigned topics and become an expert on connecting those insights to answer strategic business questions.

    The director will handle multiple projects from end-to-end including project scoping, proposal development, research execution, and reporting. They will also be responsible for managing the business partner experience to ensure strategic questions are addressed.
    This position will require managing multiple members of the team. Works on major department initiatives that leverage primary research methodologies to support various business unit and enterprise-wide decision making.

    With minimal oversight, executes and manages multiple projects from end to end, including project scoping, project management, research design (qual and quant), analysis and delivery for both qualitative and quantitative projects.

    Proactively drives projects forward by identifying challenges and recommending solutions for consideration.

    Manages several research managers, including accountability for project outcomes, quality control of team's work, as well as performance management, coaching and development of staff.

    Engages in proactive and strategic client engagement to understand their goals/constraints in order to efficiently manage expectations, shape the approach, and deliver positive outcomes that strengthen stakeholder relationships.

    Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, mathematics, statistics, psychology, anthropology or comparable analytical degree preferred.
    Minimum of 5 years of market research or related experience, 6+ preferred.
    Advanced ability to analyze and summarize data and information from survey or qualitative data.

    Advanced ability to turn observations derived from data and analysis into actionable insights, including crafting a compelling, business-relevant story.

    Advanced ability to manage complex / multi-phase research projects from the scoping phase through client delivery and managing to a budget on projects utilizing a vendor with minimal supervision.

    Provide subject matter expertise in research methods (quantitative and qualitative), survey design, and a working knowledge of statistical and sampling methods and their appropriate applications.

    Strong ability to build a network of client relationships including the ability to engage with business partners to understand, uncover insight needs and to help inform appropriate business outcomes
    Effectively manages all facets of staff performance in order to achieve business objectives.
    Advanced PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills.
    Understanding of data collection and processing (e.g., Qualtrics, SPSS, Wincross) to ensure efficient project execution.
    Minimum of 5 years of market research or related experience.
