- Oversee and review project plans, requirements and specifications
- Determine labor and equipment costs
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
- Understand project logistics (New, repair, and demolition) and project schedule
- Understand all bid documents and assess project risks
- Review quotes and estimates with the project team
- Prepare estimates and different levels of completion ( conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.)
- Orchestrate pre-construction duties and meeting with owners, clients and engineers
- 7+ years of structural steel Estimating experience
- Experience estimating 10,000 ton+ Steel erection projects.
- Engineering Experience is a bonus
- Advanced computer skills with estimating software (AutoCAD)
- Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles relating to steel erection
- Understand aspects of structural steel and misc metal concepts.
