Job Title: Day Custodian at Auburn Union School District
About the Employer
Auburn Union School District has been dedicated to providing top-notch education since 1852. Located in Auburn, just 40 miles northeast of Sacramento, on the western slope of the California High Sierra, AUSD serves a tight-knit foothill community. The district caters to 1,877 students from preschool through eighth grade across four elementary schools and one middle school. At AUSD, the focus is on placing each child at the center of every decision to ensure they are challenged, engaged, and equipped with the necessary skills for college and career readiness.
Job Summary
These positions involve two-hour shifts: one at the District Office from 04:30 pm to 06:30 pm and the other at Skyridge Elementary for 2 hours per day from 04:00 pm to 06:00 pm. Reporting to the Manager of Facilities and Maintenance, the day custodian carries out custodial and general maintenance tasks at an assigned site during the day shift. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, order, and security of buildings, office spaces, and surrounding areas, as well as making minor repairs and requisitioning supplies.

Ability to:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant custodial and maintenance experience.
Working Conditions:

- Tasks performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to fumes, dust, and odors
Physical Demands:
- Manual dexterity for equipment operation
- Extended periods of walking or standing
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Bending, kneeling, and reaching tasks
- Working at heights for light bulb replacement
Hazards:
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and working at elevated levels
