    Job DescriptionThe Production Controller is responsible for scheduling departmental work and allocating resources to ensure efficient and effective product flow.

    The Production Controller must be extremely organized and an effective communicator.

    They are responsible for communicating lead times and turnaround times to the Customer Service Department and to key customer accounts.

    A strong leader and working supervisor, the Production Controller is a mentor and trainer of department employees who supports the production staff as needed and maintains safety standards within the facility.

    1st shift opening.


    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRODUCTION CONTROLLER:


    Directs all day-to-day activities of all department employeesMentor and develop employeesUnderstand and support the company training system, coaching, and disciplinary actions for all team membersParticipate in Leadership Development and team-building activities.

    Responsible for entering any safety concerns and maintenance issues discussed during meetings and discovered by employees to the appropriate department for resolutionChair and contribute to the daily inter-shift production meetingsCommunicate and train personnel regarding process changes during shift meetingsResponsible for developing and accurately maintaining the production furnace schedules ensuring furnace loads are appropriately combined and loads created to ensure a continuous workflow and on time deliveryManage the incoming area and develop a plan to expedite work effectively and efficientlyAccurately record downtime and generating corrective action to address negative trendsCommunicate job delays to Customer Service Department to ensure that exceptional customer relationships are maintainedManage the turnaround metrics, promises, and default delivery datesProcess MonitoringReal-time monitoring of furnace charts to ensure conformance with work order requirementsEnsure that all employees complete daily furnace check sheetsAssist operators in monitoring and correcting issuesContribute to the weekly departmental maintenance meeting, weekly quality meeting, and 6S meetingBuild relationships with critical external divisional accounts.

    Allocate resources to maintain work areas and the basic working conditions of the facility and equipment.
    Perform a daily walk-around assessment of plant condition and sources of damage and takes the appropriate actions to correct.
    Manage 6S and determine and manage the daily, weekly, and monthly 6S cleaning schedules.
    Ensures all employees, including themselves, meet or exceed the 6S requirements of the facility.


    RequirementsREQUIREMENTS OF THE PRODUCTION CONTROLLER:
