    Description


    The Director of Workforce Development plans, organizes, coordinates, develops, and supervises the activities of the Workforce Development Department, including the Continuing Education and Apprenticeship programs.

    This position serves as the College's liaison to the business and industry community.


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities designed to support business and industry clients in the service area of Allendale, Bamberg, and Barnwell counties while generating revenue for the College.


    Provides leadership in the management of a contingent instructor workforce, providing an evaluation of work performance and general supervision to ensure objectives are being met.

    Provides leadership in the management of continuing education, apprenticeship, and other programs in the Workforce Development Department.

    The Director can plan, implement, and assess all components of the curriculum and courses for all non-credits programs to effectively deliver instruction and provide training opportunities to meet business and industry needs.

    Monitors program accreditation standards.

    Develops, implements, and maintains effective planning procedures for the Workforce Development Department and provides leadership for the development of the departmental plans to support the accomplishment of the Department's and College's mission; evaluates the progress of planning objectives, and interpret results for continuous improvement.

    Provides leadership in the management of the budgets of the Workforce Development Department.

    Develops, allocates, monitors, and maintains an effective department-wide budget to include personnel, supplies, services, and equipment based on identified and projected needs.

    Works collaboratively with college Vice-President, Deans, Directors, and Department Chairs to effectively meet the workforce development needs of the three-county service area.

    The Director reports to the Executive Vice President of Administration and Innovation.
    Participates in College, community, and professional development activities, peer groups, and advisory committees.

    Interacts and participates with community, economic, corporate, and industrial development agencies for the advancement of the business community and to promote the services of the College.

    Master's degree in education or related field and experience in curriculum management/development or relevant area.


    Master's degree in education, plus three (3) years of progressively responsible related work experience in a comprehensive student services environment in positions of progressively increased responsibility.

    Demonstrated organizations, planning, interpersonal, and administrative skills; excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and Ellucian Colleague ERP preferred.
