    Data Operations Analyst Description


    SUMMARY:
    The Data Operations Analyst is responsible for improving operational effectiveness and performing ad-hoc analysis, through best-in-class analytical techniques and data visualization tools, to support decision making by management and the overall AAR team


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Through industry best practices build upon the data infrastructure created within data visualization tools. (AAR uses DOMO)

    Develop an understanding of the various databases within AAR's ecosystem in order to write SQL queries or add required fields to existing queries.

    Write python scripts helping eliminate mundane steps, build complex modeling, and simulate a program's operations to improve overall performance and awareness.

    Develop charts, pivot tables, tables, and other types of cards helping highlight a team's current operations, trends of the past, financial performance, and measurements towards a goal.

    Collaborate with business subject matter experts to understand the objective of a new request and translate that into technical steps in order to accomplish that request.

    Provide analytical support relating to startup and operating phases of programs.

    Document processes to ensure clear understanding for team members supporting maintenance and troubleshooting through process flowcharts, entity relationship diagrams, methodology assumptions, and other.

    Identify opportunities and participate in continuous improvement activities to achieve process efficiencies.

    Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


    Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university within a related field (e.g.

    IT, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or Actuarial Science); or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    At least 2 to 5 years of related experience is strongly preferred.
    Preferred experience with project management software tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.
    Literate with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Access), competent with relational databases, complex spreadsheets, data visualization tools (e.g. DOMO, Tableau, Power BI), Python, or T-SQL skills a plus.
