- Patients are interviewed to identify food preferences, allergies and nutritional status per established guidelines.
- Meal rounds are performed to monitor food quality and patient intake.
- Assigned patients are visited daily to ascertain tolerance of nutritional therapy per established guidelines.
- Patient menu assistance is provided to ensure patient selection complies with prescribed diet.
- Nutrient intakes are collected, calculated, and recorded in the medical record in accordance with established standards.
- Diet is calculated and patient menu updated as necessary.
- Patient selective menus are distributed and retrieved to meet established timeframes.
- Clerical duties including heading menus, preparing production sheets, and updating patient menus are completed to meet established standards.
- Patient education is reinforced to support established regimen.
- Quality assurance monitoring is completed per stated expectations.
- Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.

- Associate's Degree in Food and Nutrition or equivalent experience preferred.
- Effective verbal, electronic and written communications skills using the English language
- Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
- Maintain variable work schedule to provide patient care as needed. (evenings, holidays, weekends and travel).
- Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.
- Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
- Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
- High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.

Summary
Assist the Registered Dietician in assessing individual nutritional needs, implementing nutritional prescription and provided feedback on acceptance and tolerance of nutrition therapy.
