    About Lake Regional Health System (LRHS)

    LRHS 500,000-square-foot, 121-bed hospital features private patient rooms, a large Outpatient department and a 35-bed Emergency Department. The Emergency Department is a state-designated Level III Trauma Center that treats nearly 31,000 patients annually.

    The hospital also features an 18-bed Intensive Care/Cardiac Care Unit and an 18-bed Progressive Care Unit. LRHS Family Birth Center includes a Level II Nursery.

    Lake Regional also is a state-designated Level II Stroke Center and Level II STEMI (heart attack) Center and has The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval and the American Stroke Association's Heart-Check mark for Primary Stroke Center Certification.

    The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission.


    Lake Regional Health System also includes seven primary care clinics; 20+ specialty clinics; three walk-in care clinics; four satellite physical and cardiac rehab therapy sites; three retail pharmacies; a skilled nursing facility; and home health and hospice services.

    Lake Regional Imaging Center is also located on the hospital's campus.

    Position Description


    The CFO is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and revenue cycle management.

    The CFO assists the hospital's governing board and CEO in the development of long-term and short-term operational and fiscal plans, which may include service demand analyses, resources availability analyses, and cost benefit analyses of proposed capital and staff expansions.


    Highlights And Responsibilities:

    Financial Planning and Analysis:
    Developing and implementing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to ensure the health system's financial health and sustainability.


    Financial Reporting:
    Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders, including the board of directors, executive team, regulatory agencies, and creditors.


    Revenue Cycle Management:
    Overseeing revenue cycle processes, including billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement, to optimize revenue generation and cash flow.


    Cost Management:
    Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency across the organization while maintaining high-quality patient care.


    Financial Compliance:


    Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, laws, and accounting standards, such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and healthcare-specific regulations like HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).


    Strategic Financial Decision-Making:


    Providing financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making by the executive team and board of directors, such as capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.


    Treasury Management:
    Managing the health system's cash flow, investments, debt, and liquidity to optimize financial resources and minimize financial risks.


    Financial Risk Management:
    Identifying and managing financial risks, such as reimbursement changes, regulatory changes, economic fluctuations, and healthcare industry trends.


    Leadership and Team Management:
    Leading the finance team, providing mentorship and guidance, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.


    Collaboration with Other Departments:


    Collaborating with other departments, such as operations, clinical services, and strategic planning, to align financial strategies with organizational goals and objectives.

    Candidate Qualifications

    Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.

    Certified Public Accountant designation (Preferred)

    8+ years of experience in financial department management.

    5+ years of supervisory experience.
