    50% Remote Opportunity Job Description:


    The position is for a highly creative mechanical design engineer to support the development of and to establish design concepts of mechanisms and structures.

    The scope includes conducting trade studies, solid modeling, and conducting preliminary analysis in support of developing solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content which supports timely closure that supports the project's milestones.

    Generate and release drawings using CAD software.
    Primary job responsibilities include conceptual and detailed mechanical design, tolerance analyses, and performing trade studies.

    The individual will be responsible for 2D and 3D engineering documentation creation and initial release, as well as coordination with other engineering and production disciplines for change notices and drawing revisions for producibility and affordability improvements.

    Candidate will be working in the Advanced Programs area in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    Tasks and responsibilities may include support of system and subassembly level test planning and execution, production nonconformance MRB disposition, coordination and support for outside suppliers, and presentations at IPT meetings, PDRs, CDRs, DARs, and other internal and external customer reviews


    Basic REQUIRED Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience
    • Proficiency with CREO (Pro/Engineer) is required.
    • Experience with developing and interpreting GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 is required.
    • Experience with PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) releases is required.
    • Basic Microsoft Office skills are required

    Desired Skills:

    • Good verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable.
    • Multiple programs will be worked concurrently and the ability to coordinate and prioritize conflicting priorities is highly desirable.
    • Occasional overtime may be required to satisfy schedule requirements.
    • Experience on Advanced/Special Access programs/contracts is desirable.
