Job summary
The Medical Social Worker provides medical social services within the scope of the person's credential.The Medical Social Worker assesses the mental and emotional health of the patient, along with the social, family, and financial circumstances to determine the need for individual counseling,
community resources,
and crisis intervention.
This person may lead support group discussions for patients and their families to review findings and discuss possible options moving forward.
- Receive and review referral information and medical history to prepare resources and options for a patient
and their family. - Conduct a socio-psychological evaluation of the patient
and the systems available to them.
