    Education: Bachelor's Degree with Major or Minor in Library Science.

    Qualifications: Must have or be eligible for a North Dakota teaching license with

    LM02 or LM03 Library Media Specialist Credential. Experience in or ability to demonstrate library teaching skills. Experience in or ability to demonstrate library software & equipment.

    Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Promote and implement literacy, technology, and the teaching of the North Dakota Library & Technology Content Standards and the North Dakota Computer Science & Cybersecurity Standards into daily lessons.
  • Plan and teach library media lessons for Grades K-5.
  • Supervise the library media paraprofessional.
  • Direct, plan, and order all library and audiovisual materials.
  • Manage the media center budget.
  • Act as a liaison between ISC and the school.
  • Plan, implement, and assist students and staff with media and curriculum resources, audiovisual, and computer programs related to media services.
  • Implement and promote the ELBA and other reading programs.
  • Actively collaborate with the media specialist Professional Learning Community.
  • Demonstrate willingness to pursue further library/education courses at the graduate level.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.

    Terms of Employment: 188 days contract

    Evaluation: By the Principal at least twice each year in the first three years of service (December 15 & April 15), and at least once each year thereafter (April 15).
