    Actalent is Hiring for Medical Asisstant

    Description:

    -Controls flow of clinic

    -Patient teaching

    -Sends in Rx's

    -Places Referrals as ordered at time of visit and tasks office nurse with the referral

    -Places lab orders and gives to patient at check out- logs lab orders placed for tracking

    -Places or Notates Rad orders that need to be scheduled- logs rad orders placed for tracking

    -Coordinates surgery scheduling with scheduler, prints lab orders, goes over packet with patient, gives patient instructions—surgery packet would then go to office nurse to coordinate pre-op appointments, etc.- logs surgeries scheduled or needing to be scheduled

    -Sends tasks to office nurse with items that can't be done in clinic (ex. we need additional patient records, patient needs FMLA paperwork filled out, etc.)

    Does scanning as able (hope to obtain one more scanner at nurse's station so every seat can have one- this helps out a lot)

    -Sets up and assists with minor in-office procedures

    -Processes instruments

    -Gives office nurse an end of the day log summary: new surgery patients/dates, referrals that were ordered that need to be scheduled/notes sent, paperwork packets that the patient needs filled out, other follow up items that the office nurse would need to be aware of to be able to work on

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    BLS Certified

    Medical Assistant Diploma

    Back office experience

    Heavy on clerical and organization - so strong insurance knowledge
