**Description**
CopperPoint Insurance Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Claims Adjuster working in Seattle, WA. The Adjuster Investigate and process first and third-party claims in a timely, unbiased, and informed manner in compliance with Company policies, state laws and regulatory performance standards.
**Job responsibilities:**
Evaluate and determine coverage for submitted claims and identify potential coverage issues.
Conduct comprehensive liability claims investigations regarding moderate exposure accidents involving bodily injury and/or property damage.
Set, adjust, and monitor reserves.
Adjust and resolve first-party property claims of minor to moderate complexity submitted by insureds.
Establish, review, document and maintain electronic claim files and assure progress toward resolution.
Manage minor to moderately complex liability claims.
Proactively maintain an electronic diary system.
Provide prompt and professional responses to client-broker requests.
Identify, investigate, and refer potential subrogation claims when applicable.
Assess actual damages, negotiate loss settlements, and attend hearings and mediations as needed.
Proactively identify and communicate discovered risks to Loss Control and Underwriting.
Participate in claims adjuster training, continuing education and team roundtables as required by department goals and applicable law.
Provide direction, assistance, and supervision to assigned clerical staff.
Manage and direct outside claims counsel. Review submitted invoices for accuracy and payment consideration.
Assign, direct and manage outside vendors.
**Qualification/Competencies:**
High school graduate.
Bachelors degree preferred, but equivalent industry experience will be considered.
3 5 years of experience in a commercial liability claims environment.
Pursuit of insurance industry designations (CPCU, AIC, SCLA, etc.).
Experience with Microsoft 365 products.
**Attributes:**
Above average oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and remotely, as needed, in a team environment.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Effective negotiation skills.
Experience with ClaimsXpress or Guidewire helpful.
Some experience with property claims and some proficiency with Xactimate helpful.
Experience in handling general liability and commercial auto claims.
Ability to develop innovative solutions to emerging claim challenges.
