$55.47/hr minimum - $83.20/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)

Responsible for attending to the medication needs of the patients and provide drug information to patients, pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other hospital staff.

Responsibilities

Safety

Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.

Record Keeping

Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.

Process Improvement

Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system's process improvement goals.

Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.

Role Specific ResponsibilitiesMaintains records, processes and monitors narcotic usage.Reviews, interprets, and processes provider medication orders.Prepares IV admixtures and other medications.Educates staff on medication usage.Educates patients on medication usage.Oversees technician staff.Monitors drug therapy, takes an active role in drug utilization , intervenes on the patients behalf as necessary, including conferring with providers and other caregivers about therapy, and documents those interventions.Participates in community health related events.Obtains and maintains competence in pharmacy, including assigned areas and required continuing educationParticipates in work assignments at other SIH facilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (Registered) or

Doctorate of Pharmacy (Clinical)

Illinois license of Pharmacy
