These internships include up to six months of on-the-job training for eligible service members.During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.

You'll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

At SNC's ISR, Aviation and Security (IAS) team we are a leading manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for high-performance intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and aviation systems.
IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations and provide a turnkey approach to enable our customers to focus on their mission.
Learn more about IASMust-haves:Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge programBachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and typically 3 or more years of relevant experiencePractical Knowledge of engineering principles and practicesExperience with Computer Aided Engineering toolsFamiliarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsPreferred:Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal AnalysisBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryKnowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processesFamiliarity with industry standard drafting standards per ASME Y14.100 or the DRMsFamiliarity with reverse engineering practices to include 3D scanning and hand-surveyingFamiliarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing)An active Secret U.S.
