    Description

    Job Title: Machine Shop Instructor at Lee College

    This job opportunity is for individuals passionate about teaching machining practices and preparing students for careers in construction, manufacturing, maintenance, and heavy industry. As a Machine Shop Instructor, you will play a vital role in imparting knowledge on installing, dismantling, repairing, and moving machinery and heavy equipment following layout plans and blueprints. In addition to teaching machining skills, you will guide students in fabricating precision parts, modifying components, and maintaining industrial machines.

    Responsibilities:

    • Teach Machine Shop/Millwright courses to students.
    • Maintain workplace safety standards and lab cleanliness.
    • Create online content to enhance learning experiences.
    • Adhere to approved syllabi and instructional guidelines.
    • Keep accurate student records.
    • Assess student learning progress and provide guidance as needed.
    • Participate in professional development activities and campus committees.
    • Promote the Machinist/Millwright program and connect students with career opportunities.
    • Adapt to evolving teaching needs and perform any other assigned duties.

    Requirements:

    • Associate degree in Machining/Millwright and 10+ years of experience in a heavy industrial setting.
    • Proficiency in equipment installations, manual machine tools, and oxyfuel-cutting.
    • Ability to teach in various formats: face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior online teaching experience and certification.
    • Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System.
    • Familiarity with CNC machining equipment operations and programming.
    • Knowledge of NCCER certification processes and community college teaching.
