Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Follow designated routes for delivery and pick-up, ensuring timely arrivals at each destination.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly during transit to prevent damage or accidents.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements suitable for operating various truck types such as tanker or flatbed.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling and route driving.
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and operating refrigerated trailers or specialized vehicles like dump trucks or roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo securement.
- Excellent navigation skills and the ability to follow detailed route instructions reliably.
