    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Remote Cognos Developer to help out a client in New Orleans, LA for a short-term contract (6-10 weeks). This individual will join the Operational Data Store (ODS) team, with a primary focus on Cognos development and integration. The successful candidate will lead efforts to design, develop, and optimize Cognos solutions while also contributing to the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of the ODS infrastructure.

    Skills and Requirements

    -Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field

    -Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Developer, with a focus on Cognos development and integration in enterprise environments.

    -Expertise in Cognos report development, including advanced report authoring, visualization techniques, and parameterization.

    -Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL, with experience in data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.

    -Proficiency in developing and maintaining Cognos Framework Manager models and packages, with a focus on data integration and transformation.

    -Experience with ODS concepts and methodologies, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance.

    -Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.

    -Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. -Certification in IBM Cognos or related technologies.

    -Experience with other business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.

    -Familiarity with higher education business processes and data requirements.
