    Research Associate


    The purpose of this position is to develop a quantum innovation ecosystem at WNE utilizing the capital equipment obtained during the LEAP Laboratory and Quantum Supply Chain grants received from MassTech.

    The research associate's primary responsibilities will include working with customers to develop hardware and testing procedures that support the quantum supply chain as well as aid/develop workforce development techniques to undergraduate/graduate students.

    This position will aid in the overall operation of the ECE laboratory space, engage with faculty research efforts, and teach 3 credits/semester.

    Must develop testing procedures and documentation for characterizing passive/active integrated photonics/microwave circuitry and superconducting circuitry at cryogenic temperatures for advanced quantum sensing and computing applications.

    Engage and support external outreach and fundraising opportunities related to optics/photonics, microelectronics, and quantum technology workforce development activities. Train, mentor, and instruct undergraduate/graduate students on the set up and operations of instruments and data analysis techniques. Functional testing required photonic and microelectronic chips and dyes in coordination with faculty, partners, and industry selects

    Candidates for this position must have a MS.E.E degree with at least 5 years of industrial experience in Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave Circuit Design, Advanced Electromagnetics, and/or Integrated Photonics.

    Candidates for this position must have excellent communication skills and have demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in research and/or external fundraising
