- Develop, organize, and implement activities geared toward programming, with the assistance from other staff as needed. Including one-on-one, small, and large group activities.
- Facilitate therapeutic programs in order to maintain or increase individual functioning levels and/or interest pursuits.
- Guide interested individuals to and from program locations, as necessary.
- Demonstrate creativity in designing programs, to promote a variety of techniques, styles, and individual preferences.
- Adapt programs to meet individual needs and/or interests.
- Previous experience in working with the elderly and/or disabled persons is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to the areas.
- Ability to recognize and understand a person's capacity for appropriate leisure/programs of varied nature and physical demand.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work load. -Ability to communicate effectively with the residents.
- Ability to work within established policies and procedures.
- Ability to work in a partnership environment which fosters effective teamwork in meeting the mission of Oakwood Village.
- Previous experience in working with the elderly and/or disabled persons is preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- COTA, recreation therapy, or related education field preferred.

Job DescriptionOakwood Village has an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to join our University Woods (West Side of Madison) senior living community facility team as a Life Enrichment Specialist. Our Life Enrichment Specialist provides therapeutic programs in which to encourage persons to maintain independence, develop and pursue personal interest and social interactions.
-The position is a M-F AM shift with a need to be available to work occasionally on nights and weekends.
-This position works 80 hours every 2 weeks.
