    Hastings Mutual is currently looking for a Director, Agile Delivery This role will be key in driving change, improving operations and executing our transformational initiatives.

    Position Summary

    The Director Agile Delivery brings deep expertise in overseeing transformation initiatives, improving operations and business processes to enable the organization and enacting change. They partner with key stakeholders to design and implement the progressive development of programs and practices needed to operate an Agile and Lean Enterprise. This role leads an agile team of Scrum asters and lean experts and is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing the team.

    Position Location & Work Format

    This position is flexible in its location We will entertain candidates who reside within our six-state territory (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, or Illinois) to work a remote schedule. Candidates residing within the greater Hastings area will be able to work a hybrid (combination of on-site and work-from-home) schedule as an alternative.

    Generally, this position will work within our standard office hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.Hastings Mutual may consider candidates in other states to work remotely if elements of their application are strong.

    Position Duties & Responsibilities
    • Manages staffing and staff development, including recruitment, supervision, organizational structure, individual and team development, performance management, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
    • Creates a supportive team-oriented work climate that enables individuals to develop professionally; and that values diversity, promotes teamwork and collaboration and emphasizes quality, customer satisfaction, creativity, and cost effectiveness.
    • Directs negotiations and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements in assigned area of responsibility.
    • Manages Scrum Masters staff.
    • Develops scrum masters and project processes so that projects can be deliver successfully in a repeatable and consistent manner, by utilizing tools and methodologies that improve the capacity to meet the business needs and priorities of HMIC now and in the future.
    • Evaluates and reports upon "best" business practices and technology, which may be employed to enhance unit performance and achieve corporate business and quality goals.
    • Monitors and reviews, with senior management, compliance with corporate policies and procedures in the use of quality testing resources and quality business analysis resources.
    • Achieves corporate quality objectives by ensuring meaningful documentation, standards/controls and quality products being implemented into production.
    • Actively participates in professional development, i.e. continuing education or self-improvement.
    Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
    • Ten years minimum experience in information technology with five years of management experience required.
    • At least 5 years of experience in creating an agile team and leading it.
    • Proven experience in managing multi-year and multimillion-dollar projects.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of the terminology, information needs, and processing flows of a property/casualty insurance company.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated excellence in managing people, including coaching and mentoring.
    • Skill in coordinating multiple concurrent activities and prioritizing work assignments.
    • Demonstrated knowledge in all phases of project and departmental management.
    • AINS certification is preferred.
    • Demonstrated excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated PC skills including proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Project and other system tools such as Okta, Snag-it, and Visio.
