    Assistant Professor of Computer & Information Science - Lewiston Campus The Department of Computer & Information Sciences at Niagara University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, to begin in August 2024. We are looking for candidates who have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a closely related field, and who can contribute broadly through teaching, supervision of undergraduate research, scholarship, and service to the department, college, and university. Teaching responsibilities include courses at all levels of curriculum-from introductory programming courses to upper-level courses in one's field of expertise. While we will consider all areas of specialization, candidates with an interest in software development, artificial intelligence, or data science are particularly encouraged to apply.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2024
    • Demonstrated or recorded potential for teaching at the college level
    • Demonstrated potential for successful research, scholarly, and creative activities
    • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

    Duties:

    • Teach undergraduate-level courses effectively, as needed by the department. Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.
    • Develop and maintain curriculum and keep content current
    • Establish and sustain a successful record of research, scholarly, and creative activities leading to publications and presentations
    • Support and empower the educational goals of our diverse body of students including those from historically marginalized backgrounds
    • Participate in service to the department, college, university, professional organizations, and community
