    Travel MRI Tech Radiology

    Responsibilities:

    • Six (6) months MRI experience preferred but will train the right candidate
    • Ability to adjust to shifting priorities on short notice
    • Scanning and processing patients
    • Obtain the highest-quality MR imaging possible, assuring the anatomical area of interest is imaged as completely as possible.
    • Demonstrate skill and proficiency in the use of sensitive MRI equipment to obtain accurate and meaningful results, review referring physician orders and any additional medical history, obtain the patient's history and shows the correlation of the clinical history with the anatomy covered on the MRI examination.
    • Prior to allowing anyone to enter the MRI exam room(s), carefully and completely screen all patients, and others entering the MRI scan room(s), for any safety issues and contraindications with regard to the specifics of being in a strong magnetic field.
    • Verify patient identification by asking patient, or family member if applicable, complete name, date of birth, reasons for examination/procedure and area to be examined. For inpatients from the hospital, also verify information on the patient's identification bracelet.
    • Demonstrate computer literacy and skills with the proficient use of PAC and RIS systems, and other systems as required.
    • Ensure equipment calibration by performing quality control tests according to established procedures and frequency schedule.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
    • Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
    • Ability to work independently and multitask.
    • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
