    Under direct supervision from the designated Manager of Sponsored Research and Funds Administration (SRFA),the Grant/Contract Coordinator serves as the intake liaison and coordinator for grant/contract submissions and closures to the department.

    The incumbent in this role will provide faculty and staff guidance on the submission and closure process, review for completeness and regulatory compliance, perform preliminary quality review and analysis, categorize submissions by grant/contract type, track and log data related items through the grant proposal/contract negotiation lifecycle.

    This position is also responsible for producing various ad-hoc reports, working with developer to define new reports and queries as needed, and maintaining various database tracking tools.

    This role also assists with coordinating educational outreach programs, such as the quarterly Clinical Research Professional Orientation and the Research Operations Group meetings, contributes to process improvement and documentation of process change within the respective unit's operations.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Serves as intake coordinator for Grant/Contract submissions to sub-unit within SRFA.

    Reviews completeness of grant/contract submissions, ensuring accurate regulatory requirements are met, and follows up with department on any incomplete or missing information.

    Reviews language, content, and contractual structure to properly categorize grant/contracts appropriately.
    Performs initial grant/contract entry into PeopleSoft.
    Performs all required data entry, scanning or importing of data in adhering to established expectations for formatting, etc. at point of contract/grant submission and closures that includes follow-up revisions and ongoing maintenance.
    Tracks grant/contract progress and serves as liaison between SRFA Grant/Contract Officers and the external department.
    Applies project management skills and maintains communications with both the department/Faculty and SRFA staff.
    Follows-up on identified gaps or issues that are discovered during the process.
    Uses existing tools to produce standard monthly reports.

    Assists with determining criteria/requirements for new or changes to existing reports, and works with developers to refine requirements and perform testing.

    Reconciles reports, performs general analysis, and provides management with requested outputs as required.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    High School Diploma/GED is required.
    Bachelor's degree is preferred.

    Experience and Skills:

    2-3 years of progressively responsible administrative/project coordination and systems experience, including grants/contracts, accounting or comparable work.
    Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
    Computer proficiency in MS Office programs.
