    Ferguson has a great opportunity for a Data Solutions Architect to join the Enterprise Data & Analytics team within the Ferguson Data organization.

    As a Data Solutions Architect - Azure and Databricks, you will be working in a multifaceted and transformative organization with the goal of both developing new capabilities while also maturing existing systems and processes.

    This role is accountable for end-to-end technical architecture of data engineering and analytics as well as supporting advanced analytical capabilities like machine learning and AI/LLMs on our Azure data platforms, with a focus on reusability and flexibility, security and governance, and rapid development.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Collaborate with business collaborators and engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable, flexible, and efficient data architectures.

    Drive the design of sophisticated data solutions, produce architecture & design artifacts (current state, target state, & transitional architectures, roadmaps, designs), and communicate the solution recommendations to both technical and non-technical teams.

    Establish common integration patterns & design standards for end-to-end data pipelines, data ingestion, transformation, storage, processing, and visualization that can be implemented by the engineering teams.

    Perform technical design review, code review, approval, and deployment via GitHub.
    Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other solutions architects and data engineers.
    Stay abreast of technologies, languages, products, platforms, and technology trends & changes that will improve operations & business outcomes.
    Conduct rapid prototyping /proofs-of-concept.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience

    At least 5 years of experience in designing and implementing big data solutions using Azure, and 2 years of experience in Databricks is preferred.

    Solid grasp of data engineering and solution architecture best practices and principles.

    Experience with Microsoft's Azure Data Factory pipelines, Logic Apps, Azure Automation Services, Purview, Fabric and Power BI to deliver data services, insights and reports to business users and collaborators.

    Prior experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and Alation preferred.
    Proficient in Spark, SQL, and Python, and have familiarity with other data processing frameworks and tools.
    Experience working with various data sources and formats, such as structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data (JSON, XML, CSV, Parquet, etc.)
    Superb communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment.
    Experience using Jira/Confluence and Agile Scrum/Kanban project delivery methodologies.

    • Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate's qualifications and prior experience.

    Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles
