Inside the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Distribution Operations Exceptions Specialist to support daily warehouse operations by managing and resolving shipment and inventory exceptions. This role is responsible for investigating issues such as damages, shortages, overages, misroutes, and invoicing discrepancies for inbound and outbound freight. The Specialist will work cross-functionally with Receiving, Shipping, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and Carriers to ensure timely and accurate issue resolution, while also supporting continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and providing hands-on operational support when needed.Posting Information

1st Shift PDC: 7:00am-3:00pm
Monday - Friday
Candidate must be be willing to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours during peak operations.
This position offers:
Quarterly gainsharing bonus potential
Starting pay of $23.44/hr. with top out pay of $33.49/hr.*
What You Drive at DTNA
Investigate and resolve shipment exceptions including damage, shortage, overage, mispick, and billing/invoicing discrepancies.
Research issues using WMS/TMS data, carrier documentation, POs, and BOLs.
Process and track carrier claims, credits, and corrective actions.
Maintain accurate exceptions log and provide weekly reporting on trends, root causes, and impact.
Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, including 5S, process updates, and SOP improvements.
Assist with warehouse tasks such as receiving, picking, packing, shipping, putaway, and cycle counting during peak periods.
Operate material handling equipment (MHE) as certified.
Collaborate with teams to reduce recurring exceptions and improve operational accuracy.
Knowledge You Should Bring
1–3 years of experience in distribution, warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory control.
Familiarity with WMS/ERP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret BOLs, POs, and freight documents.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a warehouse environment.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
Experience with carrier claims and freight exception management.
Lean/CI exposure (5S, standard work, root cause identification).
Core Competencies such as: Ownership & follow-through, communication and collaboration, attention to detail, customer/partner focus, continuous improvement mindset.
