    HR & Safety Coordinator

    Ferguson Construction (FC) is a regionally established General Contractor that has been in business for over 100 years. FC has vast experience in the heavy and light industrial, commercial, healthcare, and institutional markets.

    Along with our in-house design department, Ferguson self performs concrete, masonry, steel erection, general carpentry, and sheet metal roofing and siding trades.

    The Human Resource & Safety Coordinator provides support to the Senior HR Manager and Safety team employees


    General responsibilities include:
    Administering training (not necessarily doing the facilitation) Completing all compliance related records (Avetta, ISN, VPP) Tracking certifications and other licensing documentation (DOT, CDL, Weld, driver eligibility/MVR) Updating OSHA cards, running motor vehicle reports (MVR's)

    Assisting Senior Manager with recruiting and timekeeping

    Responsibilities


    • Track course completion, and develop monthly reports to show what employees have completed different training classes in all regions (Columbus, Dayton, Sidney, Indianapolis)
    • Schedule trade-specific courses (such as OSHA 10/30, Fall Protection, Steel Erection) for all regions
    • Work with vendors as needed when specialized facilitators is needed
    • Support Senior Manager in developing and communicating training schedules
    • Complete monthly scorecard with OSHA recordables and other pertinent metrics
    • Track all certification and licensing documentation for DOT, CDL, weld, MVR, etc.
    • Assist the Senior Manager with recruiting - vet candidates, assist with interviews, issue offer letters
    • Support completion of compliance documentation for Avetta, ISN, VPP, other
    • Support revisions to policies and procedures
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Prior experience as a Safety or HR support employee preferred
    • Prior experience working in a Learning Management System preferred
    • Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to independently prioritize
    • Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative working environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
    • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office
    • A working knowledge of various laws and regulations such as ADA, FLSA, FMLA, ADEA, NLRA, PERA, COBRA, Title VII, IRCA, and OSHA preferred

    Education and experience:

    • Associate's degree in business, Safety, HR, related - or three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
