    Job Description

    The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) invites applications for the role of Instructional Technologist in the Office of Continuing Medical Education. Under the direction of the Director of Continuing Medical Education, the Instructional Technologist oversees the Office of Continuing Medical Education's development and implementation of online course offerings, develops outreach and marketing strategies and provides technical support for internal and external CME activities.

    The Instructional Technologist is responsible for creating and implementing standards for developing marketing tools to communicate information to the target audience about CME courses and offerings across multiple projects as well as creating online visual design, including branding, visual concept, and icon design for the department. The Instructional Technologist will also develop and implement systems for delivering online educational content to physicians and other healthcare providers. This position will also assist in the development and delivery of live educational CME courses and the technology needed to support the learners and faculty of courses.

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to use and learn a variety of educational technologies, including Zoom, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Microsoft Office, evaluation software and learning systems. Effective communication and coordination with program participants and presenters that may have varying levels of tech literacy will be critical to success in this role.     Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree and two years of related work experience OR

    Master's Degree and one year of related work experience

    Related Experience: development of online courses, development of communications and marketing materials, providing technical/software support

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience building externally facing materials, including meeting accessibility requirements
    • Experience using video editing software
    • Familiarity with State licensing boards

    Total Compensation

    The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, moving allowance (if applicable), a rich retirement plan, health insurance options that include dental and vision, life insurance, thirty (30) days of sick leave provided upon start date and two (2) days of sick leave accrued per full month after the first year of service, two (2) days of annual leave accrued each full month, along with many other benefits.
