Job DescriptionDescription:RN Nursing
POSITION PURPOSE
Provides evaluation of assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Provides assistance to nursing peers as requested. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the nursing field.
Requirements:POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate of a nursing program is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Experience:
Prior emergency or critical care nursing experience is preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:
Current Mississippi RN licensure is required. BLS is required upon hire; ACLS, PALS and CPI certifications are required within 6 months of hire/transfer into the position. TNCC is required within one 1year of hire/transfer into the position.
Working Conditions:
Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne/airborne disease; contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances; exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, chemicals and illness); subject to varying and unpredictable situations; able to handle emergency, crisis or pressured situations; subject to multiple interruptions; occasionally subject to extended or irregular hours; requires judgment/actions that impact patient outcomes.
