    Job Summary

    To provide counseling and counseling-related services to university students. To also provide mental health consultation and outreach services to the university community.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master's Degree in Counseling; Counseling/Psychology or Social Work from an accredited institution.

    • Licensed in the state of Virginia as a psychologist, counselor or social worker.

    • Licensed eligible within one year as a Professional Counselor, psychologist or Clinical Social Worker.

    • Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, processes and/or protocols for the provision of counseling services in a mental health agency or college or university counseling center.

    • Working knowledge of college student development.

    • Demonstrated ability to supervise mental health professionals in training.

    • Internship at a University/College Counseling Services or mental health agency.

    • Completion of graduate internship at a mental health agency.

    • Some experience as a counselor in college/university counseling center or in a mental health agency.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred experience in a college counseling center which includes training practicum and intern students.
